Evan and Kerri with Kerri's Grandma

At the moment we are living in Townsville, North Queensland, Australia. We've been here for about 18 months and came here after living in London and seeing a bit of the world.

We met in Turkey in October 2001 and returned there a year later where Evan proposed and Kerri accepted. Turkey, needless to say, holds a special place in our hearts so if  you see a lot of photos from that part of the world on this site don't be surprised!

We're fast approaching our 30s ..... but are desperately trying to cling to youth. We both like watching and playing sports. Kerri is a late bloomer in this area but Evan is well and truly entrenched in the area of sporting prowess. Evan plays Rugby League for the local University team and Kerri plays indoor netball. We both go to the gym and ride our bikes regularly.

Kiwi or Aussie? Evan believes Kerri is a 'Kiwi in denial' seeing as both her parents were born there, but she's sticking to her Australian roots and staking her claim as a proud Queenslander.

Evan will always be bonded with the beige ........

Favourites

We do have a few favourite flicks:

Star Wars (original trilogy), Good Will Hunting (a personal favourite of Evan's), The Devil's Advocate, Lord of The Rings Trilogy, Amelie (a Kerri fave).

When it comes to music Evan has more definite favourites than Kerri. He's a big Jewel and Lisa Loeb listener. We both enjoy Dido and Elliot Smith.
In particular though we do like to listen to comedians and are big fans of Bill Hicks, Billy Connolly and Lenny Bruce.

On the book front we are avid readers but differ in taste! Evan likes M. Scott Peck, Kerri enjoys a good work of fiction. We both enjoy Bill Bryson books (yet another Bill!) and Paulo Coelho.

RIP Fat Albert

It is with great regret that we inform you of the demise of our trusty van, Fat Albert. Fat Albert (aka Mitsi, The Maroon Bus, Beasty Van) lived an adventurous life, and had traveled the length and breadth of Australia on more than one occasion during his 400 000km lifespan. He loved nothing more than to sit on 80km/h on the open highway as a string of frustrated drivers banked up behind him. He could be temperamental at times, and had been known to refuse to use his indicators and tail lights when asked. He was also well-renowned for his lack of ability in holding his oil. Fat Albert was reclaimed by the Great Autowreckers in the Sky earlier this evening as he was returning from a trip to Ingham. With a great clang he seized up just south of Rollingstone on the highway to Townsville (those of you familiar with the Townsville area will appreciate just how much in the middle of nowhere we found ourselves...). Fat Albert was unable to go on without assistance from a tow truck so we decided, for Fat Albert's own quality of life, to put him out to the wreckers' pasture so his bits and pieces can be donated to many other needy vehicles. He will be best remembered for his unpredictable backfiring, his wind-the-window-down air-conditioning, and his ability to comfortably accommodate a double mattress.

Farewell Fat Albert: 1984-2005

He driveth no more....
